History
St. Saviour's RC Primary School opened in 1966 and was immediately over subscribed, so an Infant school was built on the same campus and the Primary school became St. Saviour's Juniors. The Infant school opened on 5th January 1967 as the two form entry school. It was built in a traditional style with assembly hall, kitchen, and six classrooms. In 1969 a seventh classroom was built into the courtyard. When the pupil roll had fallen in the early 1980s this room was used for TV, video, library, learning support lessons and music. It has now reverted to a classroom to accommodate the pre-school group and six mainstream classes.

Mrs Ann Porter was the Head teacher from the opening until she retired in 1984. Mrs Ann Driscoll was then promoted from class teacher to Head teacher until her retirement in July 2003. Miss Clare Suffield became Head teacher in January 2004 until leaving in 2007 and Mrs Kate Barlow became acting head.

The school celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1992 with an exhibition of photographs of children and activities throughout the 25 years. After a celebratory mass, a special lunch was shared with parents, governors, and St. Saviour's Junior staff. There was a special afternoon for pupils and an evening party for parents and past pupils.

The 30th birthday display centred around the world 30 years ago. Again mass was celebrated followed by a special lunch.

In June 1999 Mrs Ann Driscoll celebrated 25 years of teaching at St. Saviour's Infant School. The celebration took the form of a thanksgiving mass followed by special entertainment for the pupils.
