St. Saviours Catholic Junior School was opened in 1966 and is a well maintained building in extensive grounds, traditionally built with eight individual classrooms. It provides a well stocked library, music and technology room! The building is arranged on two floors around a central courtyard. The school serves the parish of St. Saviours with most children transfering from St. Saviours Catholic Infant School. We have close links with the Infant School and aim to build on the high standards set there.
We are in the fortunate position of being able to provide excellent 'Breakfast' and 'After' School Clubs for our pupils! This facility is situated in the Infant School building and accepts pupils from both the Junior and Infant School. The Club provides safe, stimulating childcare every school day offering supervised activities by fully qualified staff.

This diary outlines the key dates in the school year. It includes Masses, Holiday Dates, Parent's Evenings and key events such as Sport Day. We will do our best not to change these dates now they have been set. However if for any reason we should need to alter any dates we will give you as much notice as possible. Please be aware that as the year progresses other events and activities may take place that as yet have not been planned. We will inform you of such events as early as possible.
Parents are responsible for ensuring that children of compulsory school age receive a full time suitable education.
Regular
attendance and punctuality are essential if children are to make good progress
at school. Registers are marked at the beginning of the school sessions, i.e.
as soon as possible after 9.00 am and 1.10 pm. Presence is indicated by a
black / or \ in the appropriate column.
Important: A letter has been sent home with pupils from the EIP (Education
Improvement Partnership) regarding Fixed Penalty Notices for poor attendance
- please click here to print a copy.
To avoid receiving a Fixed Penalty Notice you must
ensure your child(ren) attend school regularly and on time. If they are unable
to attend you must make sure that the school understands the reason why.
Late arrival:
Children are recorded as late, indicated by an 'L' in the appropriate column, if they arrive more than 5 minutes after the school session began, unless the school has previously been notified.
Absence:
Absence is indicated by a red 'O' in the appropriate column, inside which, there will be either 'M' for medical reasons or 'H' for holiday. Frequent absences will be investigated.
In order to monitor the unauthorised absences for children in school, it is vital that you inform us of any absences immediately that they occur.
Please write, informing whether medical reason or holiday (maximum of two weeks permitted only when family holidays cannot be taken during school closure, not single days and permission to be requested in writing beforehand).
Absence
(2004)
4.8% authorised (4.4% locally, 5.1% nationally)
0.6% unauthorised (0.4% locally, 0.4% nationally)
Mobile Telephones:
Please do not allow your children to bring mobile telephones into school, they are NOT allowed.
Uniform:
We have a strict uniform policy and would ask that you support the school fully.
Please ensure that ALL articles of clothing are labelled with your child's name and that he/she knows how to identify them.
The children change clothes for P.E. into a white T-shirt and black shorts. The children work in the hall in bare feet but in pumps or trainers for outdoor activities.
RINGS AND EAR-RINGS ARE NOT ALLOWED, EXCEPT FOR SMALL STUDS FOR PIERCED EARS. THESE ARE WORN ENTIRELY AT THE PUPILS OWN RISK.
Discipline and Behaviour:
We expect children to be well behaved, well mannered and have a caring attitude towards one another.
