Sports Day 2009
KS 2 Sports Day 2009 was a great success. I would like to thank all staff, pupils, PTA and parents for helping to make this day a wonderful experience for the children. It was only the second sports day for our Y6 children due to bad weather in previous years.
Mrs Norbury and Miss Fleming have taken some excellent photographs which can be seen in our
Gallery
.
We have a selection here to show how much everyone enjoyed themselves.
Thank you again for such a great morning.

All smiles from St Saviour's in new kits from Urenco
St Saviour's Primary School has received sponsorship from Urenco, Capenhurst to buy new team sports kit.
Shown here are the Rugby Team in their new shirts and the cross country team in their new vests.
The Rugby Team wore the kit the next day in a friendly match against William Stockton which was a really exciting match with St Saviour's losing 15-13.
A great achievement from a year 5 team playing against mainly year 6's.
The cross country team is holding the shield won in this years Ellesmere Port and District Cross Country Championship.
We give our thanks to Urenco for giving us this sponsorship and the opportunity to provide new kit for our school.

Walk to School Week 18th - 22nd May 2009
We are going to take part in Walk to School Week.
We want to encourage more people to walk to school, rather than come in the car. A leaflet will be given to each child to record how they travel to and from school during the week.
The Walking Bus will be running every morning that week:
Sutton Way Monday to Thursday and
Hope Farm on Friday when Andrew Miller MP will be walking with us.
So if you are registered, please come and join us.
Competition - Wednesday 20th May - 'The Green Challenge'
Cheshire’s School Travel Team are organising a competition to take place during Walk to School Week. They are asking all schools to walk to school with something green. This can be something that is coloured green, like a T-shirt or a green teddy, or it can be something that is green by being good for the environment, like a bike or a re-usable bag. Let your imagination run wild!
We will be taking photographs on Wednesday 20th May, or you can bring your own photos in by Friday 22nd May. The School Travel Team will be choosing the school with the winning entry after the half term holiday.
If we win, we will get £200, which the teachers will be able to use to get lots of new things for our school.

World Book Day
Key Stage 1 celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 5th March and shared a wonderful fun day together. Children and staff dressed up as characters from well known story books and paraded around both playgrounds watched on by proud parents and children and staff from Key Stage 2.
Our day continued with a variety of activities including story writing, book making, story sacks and story telling. We ended our day with an assembly where each child chose a book and one child in each class won a book prize for the 'Best Book Character Costume.'
A good day was had by all!
Winners from Key Stage 1
Key Stage 2
Watching the infant parade was the first activity on our agenda for WBD. Dressing up, we saw – Bob the Builder, Roary the racing car, Noddy, Snow white, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Miss Sunshine are to name a few.
Next session was organised by Mrs Lunney. We had mixed Y5/6 teams- Great Sutton Academy and Ellesmere Port University, the final score being 190 all. Questions ranged from The unfortunate events, The Secret Garden, Harry Potter, Tracy Beaker, Horrid Henry, James Bond and Where’s Wally. A fun forty minutes of books mayhem.
After break the winners were announced Pippi Longstocking and Aladdin won the autographed copies of Michael Morpurgo’s novel Kasper – Prince of Cats. We then all enjoyed watching an old Jackanory of George’s Marvellous Medicine which scored huge complaints from concerned parents after George mixed the medicine for Grandma which included paint, pig pills, nail varnish, shoe polish etc. This episode has been voted the best T.V. moment for children.
In the afternoon we each received a WBD book which we had pre- ordered from Borders. Many of us read the book that night!
