St. Saviour's Walking Bus was set up in April 2008 to help work towards making going to and arriving at school safer. Children encouraged to walk to school will be getting more exercise and learn how to cross roads safely etc. Walking to school is a safe, fun and environmentally friendly way of getting to and from school and will also take a number of cars away from the school gate. Children are rewarded for walking with stickers and gifts.

The Walking Bus team at St Saviour's would also like to thank PCSO Claire Whomes and PC Matthew Hull who have been working with the School's Traffic Committee to make our community safer, by helping and supporting the children and the school.
Claire Whomes said "This area is a great place to live, work and visit. We know from facts and figures about crimes that Ellesmere Port & Neston is getting safer all the time and I'm confident that we can work together with the community to ensure things continue improving. We are happy to help St Saviour’s achieve their goal of a safer environment around the school gates."
